About Dosage.com.auDosage.com.au is a platform for commentary, information and discussion on all matters of dosage relating to the Australian and New Zealand (ANZ) thoroughbred. Its intention is to service and support the burgeoning field of dosage in this region. As you peruse the pages at this website, it is our hope that you come to appreciate the vast amount of expertise and effort that has gone into developing this important discipline, not only in this part of the world but also in the global arena. Dosage.com.au is a not-for-profit entity. Revenue derived from advertising is used to cover costs associated with site hosting and maintenance (domain registrations and site hosting fees alone amount to $580 per annum). Additional funds derived from advertising and/or sponsorship are used for the construction of new content, services and back-end programs. Dosage.com.au does not derive any funds from business activities conducted by the growing list of companies that advertise on this web site, other than from rental of the advertising space. One of the first goals of the ANZ dosage team was to secure the dosage.com.au domain name. This premium six letter name is owned exclusively by Thoroughbred Village, and Dosage.com.au is therefore one of the Thoroughbred Village family of companies. The Dosage.net.au domain name was also secured to prevent imitation. We felt it was of critical importance to register these important domain names so that they are used solely for the purposes of the ANZ dosage resource. Dosage experts each have their own views on the relative merits of individual stallions, theories and systems. Hence, the Dosage.com.au resource aims to provide equal opportunity for all dosage advocates. However, we acknowledge the seminal work of John Hutchinson in devising the A-NZ Keysires list and use this list exclusively in the figures designated as “official”. This is not to say that other systems are incorrect. It is purely for the purposes of reporting dosage figures that are based on a widely available and generally agreed upon data set. Everyone will have their own set of rules which may or may not lead to better analyses. Feedback and discussion is always welcome and encouraged on the Dosage.com.au forums. We hope that you will find Dosage.com.au a highly informative and fascinating web-based resource and that you come to appreciate the enormous value of dosage in assessing the modern day thoroughbred.
